About the role#
We are hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position where you will learn the insurance claims process and assist our team in providing financial security to our policyholders.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits to assemble facts.
- Determine policy coverage and evaluate the total amount of loss.
- Analyze legal liability to decide on claim payments or denials.
- Study insurance policies, forms, and endorsements to build your product knowledge.
- Work toward claim resolutions, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Ensure all payments are issued accurately and on time while assisting agents and policyholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and organize data effectively.
- Skill in resolving complex issues.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- This is an on-site role based in West Des Moines, IA, or Cedar Rapids, IA.
- The internship takes place during the summer of 2027.
