About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring Kettering students for co-op positions in software development, IT security, and predictive modeling. You will work on-site in Lansing or Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a paid, part-time role with rolling terms available for A and B section students. Please specify your area of interest in your application.
What you'll do#
Depending on your assigned team, you will contribute to core technical projects:
- Define, develop, test, and maintain software programs and applications.
- Participate in design reviews and team brainstorming sessions.
- Research, develop, and support security software tools.
- Build models using statistical or machine learning techniques to meet business and regulatory needs.
- Monitor model performance and implement iterative improvements.
What you'll need#
- You must be working toward a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Cybersecurity concentration or minor is preferred for IT security roles.
- You should have strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery is a plus.
- You must be able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
