About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Forest, Virginia. You will gain experience in the insurance industry by participating in a structured training program with employee mentoring.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and assemble facts to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability.
- Handle investigations through phone calls, mail, and on-site visits.
- Work toward the resolution of claims, including attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Ensure claims payments are issued accurately and on time.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college as an incoming junior or senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Criminal Justice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data.
- Capacity to manage multiple assignments and resolve complex issues.
- Detail-oriented approach to your work.

- Compensation: $20 per hour with bonus eligibility.
