About the role#
The Legal Talent Management Intern will support functional and administrative initiatives within the Legal Talent Management team. This team manages training, performance, career development, and integration for the firm's legal professionals. You will collaborate on projects aligned with your field of study while gaining exposure to operations in a professional services environment. You will work under the supervision of the Director of Legal Talent Management and an assigned mentor.
What you'll do#
- Assist with external website content and internal intranet updates.
- Create department newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, and marketing materials.
- Participate in team meetings, training programs, and post-program evaluation efforts.
- Help coordinate logistics and preparations for the 2027 BTLaw Academy orientation program.
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends and best practices for mentoring, sponsorship, and integration.
- Make recommendations for improvements within the firm framework.
- Support the planning and execution of professional development programming and gather participant feedback.
- Assist with bar licensure tracking and continuing legal education records.
- Maintain confidentiality in all client and firm matters.
- Collaborate with other departments and fellow summer interns.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university program to receive course credits.
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Recruiting, Talent Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly in person, by email, by phone, and in virtual settings.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread for grammatical or typographical errors.
- Ability to follow instructions from a diverse group of attorneys, staff, and clients.
- Capability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Location & details#
- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site role.
- Term: Summer 2027. The program lasts 10 consecutive weeks, beginning June 1, 2027.
- Eligibility: Candidates must be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in the fall of 2027 or be a recent graduate at the time of the internship.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
