About the role#
This internship at Deer Creek Station provides hands-on experience with power generation systems and procedures. You will work alongside operators to support the safe and reliable function of plant equipment. The role focuses on building practical skills in operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
What you'll do#
- Monitor plant equipment and performance.
- Conduct routine inspections of facility systems.
- Support the safe operation of all plant machinery.
- Collect and maintain operational data.
- Assist with maintenance tasks and equipment troubleshooting.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment as a full-time student or recent graduate (within the past 12 months) in a two-year power generation program, with at least one year completed.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong communication, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred, along with additional certifications or coursework.
- Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and working in environments with noise, chemicals, or temperature variations.

- Term: Summer 2027 (approximately May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $28.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time.
