About the role#
This internship provides project-based support within the Energy Markets division at the Basin Electric Power Cooperative headquarters. You will gain exposure to cooperative operations through hands-on tasks and assignments related to your field of study. This is a paid, full-time position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the checkout process for gas purchase and sales contracts.
- Help settle wind purchase power agreements, including validating curtailments and providing calculations for counterparties.
- Support the settlement of short-term transmission, energy, and capacity transactions.
- Complete monthly billing tasks.
- Investigate market activity abnormalities and develop solutions to improve processes.
- Contribute to the development and expansion of data and systems for market analysis.
- Handle ad-hoc data and analysis requests.
- Follow all safety, security, and procedural guidelines.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a four-year Business, Finance, or Accounting program.
- Completion of at least two years of your degree program or graduation within the past 12 months.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- A transcript is required at the time of application.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred.

- Term: Summer 2027 (approximately May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Wage: $23.50 per hour.
