About the role#
This summer internship at the Dakota Gasification Company in Beulah, North Dakota, provides hands-on experience in industrial maintenance. You will work alongside Field Maintenance Technicians to support the repair and upkeep of plant equipment. The role runs from May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Help repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment.
- Operate a variety of power, hydraulic, and hand tools including saws, drills, sanders, and welding equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting to diagnose equipment problems.
- Help with setup, participation, and cleanup for the annual Family Night event.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a welding or mechanical maintenance program, having completed your freshman year, or completion of such a program within the last 12 months.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work in environments with noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred.
- Additional certifications or coursework in your field of study are a plus.
