About the role#
This summer internship offers hands-on experience in golf course maintenance at Big Cedar Lodge. You will work under direct supervision to maintain course quality and gain exposure to leadership by managing small project crews. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Apply chemicals to greens, tees, and fairways using boom sprayers.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on Rainbird and Toro sprinkler heads.
- Manage topdressing of greens with sand.
- Hand water bent grass greens in the transition zone using pogo sensors.
- Lead small project crews when opportunities arise.
- Network with course assistants, superintendents, and the Director of Agronomy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Turfgrass Management or Landscaping degree program.
- Ability to work a varying shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Competency with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
- A service-oriented mindset and a positive attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work safely.
- Physical capacity to lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, and grasp consistently.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
