About the role#
BBP is looking for an I&E Assembly Technician Intern to join our team in Baton Rouge. This role offers hands-on experience in shop and warehouse operations. You will work alongside technicians to support the assembly, testing, and organization of industrial instrumentation and valve products. This position is a learning opportunity for those interested in industrial operations, manufacturing, or instrumentation.
What you'll do#
- Assist Valve and Sensors Technicians with assembly and testing tasks.
- Support basic valve automation assembly, tubing preparation, and component installation.
- Help assemble and test temperature measurement devices, pressure gauges, and related instrumentation.
- Receive, unpack, inspect, and organize incoming materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and help with cycle counts.
- Label and stock materials within the shop and warehouse.
- Keep workstations, tools, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Assist with packaging products and preparing orders for shipment.
- Follow safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a technical, vocational, associate, or bachelor's degree program in Industrial Technology, Instrumentation, Engineering, or a related field.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools like wrenches, screwdrivers, and measuring devices.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements.
