About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will apply your accounting education and organizational skills to support our client engagements. You will work alongside experienced team members who provide coaching and direction. This role offers a hands-on perspective of our audit practices and helps you build professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Become familiar with firm-specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with client contacts, including customers, creditors, and banks, regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to audit teams and respond to team members.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A masters degree in Accounting and previous leadership experience are preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Baltimore, Maryland.
- The term for this position is Summer 2027.
- This role is on-site.
