About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work within our audit practice to support client engagements. You will work alongside experienced team members who provide direction and coaching. This role allows you to gain hands-on experience with our firm's practices while building professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO audit methodology to assist during various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to audit teams and respond to team member views.
- Complete an assigned research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting is required.
- You must be actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
- A Masters degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, work effectively in a team, and maintain a positive attitude.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The position is based on-site in Anchorage, Alaska.
- We do not offer sponsorship for this role.
