    About the role#

    BHARP manages the Behavioral Health Higher Education Program (BHHEP) to connect students with behavioral health providers in Pennsylvania. This paid internship program aims to increase staffing levels within the North Central Health Choices network. You will complete your internship with a contracted provider while you finish your degree.

    What you'll do#

    • Complete an internship with a provider during your college studies.
    • Participate in the Behavioral Health Higher Education Program.
    • Commit to working with a provider contracted under the North Central Health Choices agreement.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be a junior or senior in an accredited college or university, or currently enrolled in a Master's level program.
    • You must be a resident of Pennsylvania.
    • You need a valid driver's license.
    • We look for a genuine interest in the behavioral health field.
    • Relevant majors include Psychology, Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, or Sociology.

    • This is an on-site position located in Pennsylvania.
    • The program operates on a rolling basis.
    • This is a paid internship opportunity.

    About BHARP

    The Behavioral Health Alliance of Rural Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization based in State College. Founded in 2006, it manages the HealthChoices program for Medicaid recipients across twenty-four Pennsylvania counties. The organization works with the state Department of Human Services to provide behavioral health coverage. It also supports healthcare providers in its service area to improve treatment access.
