    About the role#

    Bird Construction is hiring a Student Project Coordinator for a 12-month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role is based in Calgary, Alberta. You will manage a specific area of responsibility on a current construction project, supported by a supervisor and a technical mentor.

    What you'll do#

    • Coordinate drawings and manage specific scopes or trades.
    • Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, and check hours and rates.
    • Participate in project meetings and conduct deficiency walks to update logs.
    • Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions against drawings.
    • Supervise sub-trade work and maintain record keeping.
    • Layout site lines and grades using a total station.
    • Update project schedules, create manual schedules, and monitor manpower productivity.
    • Produce as-built drawings and coordinate progress photos.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction program.
    • Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Ability to lead and operate in an environment where priorities change frequently.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
    • Residency or a valid work permit to work for Bird Construction.
    • A current transcript must be included with your application.

    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Term: 12 months starting September 2026.
    • Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
