About the role#
Bluestaq is launching a graduate research sponsorship in partnership with North Dakota State University. This program connects academic research to national security mission impact. You will conduct research beginning in Fall 2026 and complete a paid summer internship in 2027. This role involves work with Large Language Models, Data Sourcing and Tagging, Knowledge Graphs, Agentic AI, Natural Language Processing, and Prompt Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research in focus areas defined by Bluestaq.
- Work independently and with NDSU faculty advisors.
- Participate in research that has immediate mission impact.
- Receive hands-on mentorship and real-world application experience.
- Complete a paid summer internship at our headquarters as a direct continuation of your research.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or incoming status as an M.S. or Ph.D. student at North Dakota State University.
- Target disciplines include Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Software and Security Engineering.
- A strong academic record and an interest in applying AI and data to national security challenges.
- Selection through a joint Bluestaq and NDSU review process.
- U.S. citizenship is required to be eligible for a security clearance.
Location & details#
- Academic-year research takes place at NDSU in Fargo, North Dakota.
- The mandatory summer internship is on-site at Bluestaq headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Bluestaq retains full ownership of all intellectual property developed under the sponsorship.
