About the role#
This is a four-month internship for Winter 2027 based in Toronto. You will join the Audit AI & Analytics team to work on data-driven projects, machine learning models, and process automation. This position is full-time and on-site.
What you'll do#
- Mine and analyze large structured and unstructured datasets using advanced analytical algorithms.
- Build predictive models and design new processes for modeling data.
- Investigate and test new technologies, including AI, machine learning, and Large Language Models.
- Collaborate with product teams and analytics professionals to scale solutions and support data-driven decision making.
- Assess the feasibility of AI and machine learning solutions through data mining and extraction.
- Conduct large-scale analysis to identify trends and patterns.
- Provide recommendations to business leaders to support competitiveness.
- Apply the BMO Risk Management Framework to ensure compliance and protect the bank.
What you'll need#
- An educational background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Typically 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- General knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot, Gemini, and ChatGPT, including experience creating prompts for automation.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in areas including systems thinking, change management, and stakeholder management.
- Advanced proficiency in data-driven decision making, analytical problem solving, and agile frameworks.
