About the role#
This is a full-time, 8-month internship position for Winter 2027. You will work on-site in Toronto, contributing to data analytics and reporting projects within the financial services sector. This role involves translating business needs into technical specifications and managing data processes to support decision-making across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Design and build reporting dashboards using data extraction, cleaning, and visualization techniques.
- Identify trends and patterns to provide actionable insights from large datasets.
- Collaborate with analytics professionals to automate and scale reporting solutions.
- Document data flows, systems, and internal processes.
- Develop tools and training programs to support self-serve analytics for non-technical users.
- Apply the Risk Management Framework to ensure all tasks align with bank policies and regulations.
- Articulate the business case for analytics projects and evaluate the value delivered.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience or interest in data visualization, data mining, and data storytelling.
- Ability to think in terms of systems and optimize technical designs.
- Creative thinking and illustration skills to enhance the usability of analytics solutions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration.
- A motivated mindset and a strong desire to learn.
