About the role#
The Funding Support intern ensures the mortgage closing process runs smoothly. You will provide data and documentation to closing service providers, enabling solicitors and agents to finalize property purchases or refinances. After funds are disbursed, you will perform administrative tasks to finalize loan setups within the mortgage system.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with closing service providers to supply data and documentation for mortgage closings.
- Liaise with the Residential Credit Team to resolve information inconsistencies.
- Review documentation from the lending portal and update borrower data in systems.
- Prepare insurance documents and verify that legal representatives meet compliance standards.
- Oversee the closing portal to confirm fund disbursement.
- Perform post-funding tasks such as setting up pre-authorized payments, generating welcome letters, and verifying addresses.
- Update borrower risk ratings and configure Lines of Credit on the servicing portal.
- Process payments to business partners and brokers.
- Analyze final reports from solicitors to ensure registration compliance.
- Manage the Agreement Amending Mortgages process and issue formal demand letters when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a post-secondary program in Business, Communications, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- A diploma or equivalent post-secondary education.
- Knowledge of mortgages.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Logical thinking skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
