About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site at our Waterloo office. The role focuses on end-user computing support, including hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software. You will help ensure our team meets service response and restoration targets while managing hardware upgrades and inventory.
What you'll do#
- Deploy Windows 11 laptops and desktops for end users.
- Execute hardware upgrades following established timelines and processes.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide support to clients after upgrades.
- Manage inventory control and the lifecycle of end-user computing devices.
- Track and update assets within the inventory control system.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a University degree or College diploma in computer science, information systems, or information technology.
- Graduation date of April 2027 or later.
- Skills in Windows 11 setup, configuration, and computer hardware repair.
- Knowledge of device connectivity, including TCP/IP and network adapter configuration.
- Understanding of network systems like LAN, WAN, and VPN, as well as telephony systems.
- Working knowledge of MS Office365.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a background in customer service.
- Ability to multitask, plan, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Reliability Status Clearance, which is a condition of employment.
