About the role#
This student position provides technical support for computer systems at Bob Jones University. You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, deploy components, and help users with their technical questions. Work is available during the semester and throughout the summer if you choose.
What you'll do#
- Provide solutions to user issues with computer hardware and software.
- Answer customer calls to the IT Support phone line.
- Research technical problems to find resolutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Pursue self-education to improve your skills.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of basic MS Office applications.
- An aptitude for training users and learning new technologies.
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to details.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 20 lbs and push or pull up to 25 lbs.
- You must be punctual and accountable.
- Being 18 years old with a valid driver's license is preferred.
- Two references are required when you apply.
