About the role#
CISE Student Assistants provide essential support to our team as we serve K-12 students, CSUDH students, and the community. This part-time position involves a mix of administrative tasks, event coordination, and recruitment support. You will work closely with program coordinators to ensure our initiatives run smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Greet students, families, and guests as the first point of contact.
- Handle general office duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and performing data entry.
- Support recruitment by creating social media content and presenting at classroom visits or fairs.
- Manage logistics for special events and information sessions, including RSVPs, attendance tracking, and interview scheduling.
- Maintain program databases and review participation waivers.
- Assist with STEAM programming, including Saturday events, by escorting students and coordinating meal setups.
- Order, track, and organize program materials.
- Participate in weekly team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at California State University Dominguez Hills.
- Proficiency with Zoom, Google Suite, and MS Suite.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Availability to work 15 to 20 hours per week with flexibility for special events.
Location & details#
- Location: Carson, California (on-site at CSUDH).
- Hours: 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Pay: $16.90 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, non-exempt, at-will employment.
- Term: Rolling applications.
