About the role#
The Summer 2027 CFO Advisory Intern position is a full-time, paid opportunity based in Chicago, Illinois. You will join our team to gain practical experience in accounting advisory and consulting. This role requires on-site attendance and is designed for students who want to apply their academic knowledge to real-world client scenarios.
What you'll do#
- Support the performance of accounting advisory consulting engagements, including resolving issues related to events, transactions, and accounting policies.
- Assist with project quality control, from initial planning and fieldwork to the composition of final deliverables.
- Maintain a strong client focus by understanding business needs and building productive working relationships.
- Provide recommendations regarding client accounting processes and procedures.
- Support teams on complex engagements such as mergers and acquisitions, restatements, carve-outs, and SEC reporting.
- Assist with technical areas including revenue recognition, lease standard implementation, and financial analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- A strong interest in technical accounting, accounting processes, and business intelligence.
- Curiosity regarding business operations and the impact of accounting and information systems.
- Ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Interest in obtaining a CPA designation is preferred.
