About the role#
This 10-week summer internship is part of the Enterprise Technology and Security program at Citizens. You will work with network engineering teams to support secure connectivity solutions and contribute to automation and infrastructure initiatives. This role is a full-time, paid position that provides mentorship, professional development workshops, and opportunities to connect with senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and support secure connectivity solutions across the enterprise.
- Monitor network health and identify performance trends.
- Partner with network engineers, architects, cybersecurity, and cloud teams to execute technical projects.
- Review and optimize firewalls, proxy gateways, and other security components.
- Investigate and resolve network availability and accessibility issues.
- Contribute to automation, orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, and network observability projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related technology field.
- Expected graduation date of May 2028 with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following: Java, JavaScript, C, Python.Net, Node, or SQL.
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills.
- Academic or professional exposure to enterprise networking, cloud networking, or cybersecurity.
- Interest in automation, scripting, APIs, infrastructure as code, or data analysis.
- Curiosity and strong problem-solving skills.
- You must complete a video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link to remain under consideration.
- Permanent work authorization in the United States is required. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Locations: Johnston, Rhode Island; Phoenix, Arizona; or Plano, Texas.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
