    About the role#

    The Denver Sheriff Department is offering a clinical internship for Master's level students. You will work with the Crisis Response Team to provide services to individuals in the care and custody of the department. This role offers direct experience within a correctional facility, focusing on trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.

    What you'll do#

    • Shadow clinicians during initial client interviews and clinical assessments.
    • Assist in developing and implementing coordinated treatment plans.
    • Participate in client staffing meetings to help form treatment and transition recommendations.
    • Provide both individual and group intervention services.
    • Learn to assign and update mental health alerts for clients.
    • Attend weekly individual supervision sessions.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited Master's degree program in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Completion of all prerequisite coursework required by your academic institution.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting.
    • A genuine interest in working within a corrections or jail-based environment.
