About the role#
As a Virtual Design + Construction (VDC) Intern, you will work directly with our VDC team to see how BIM, reality capture, and emerging technologies support the planning and delivery of construction projects. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside project managers, estimators, and field teams to connect office workflows to the jobsite.
What you'll do#
- Support VDC staff with BIM coordination tasks including model setup, clash detection, and issue tracking.
- Create visual graphics and presentation materials for project pursuits and proposals.
- Deploy reality capture technology for field verification and project documentation.
- Test emerging technologies and workflows, providing feedback to support research and development.
- Collaborate across departments to understand how technology integrates into real-world construction projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with BIM concepts, model coordination, or construction technology workflows.
- Experience with Autodesk software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or Forma.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining detail-oriented.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
- Positions are available in Raleigh, NC; Wilmington, NC; and Winter Garden, FL.
- The program operates on a rolling basis.
