About the role#
Clera is looking for a Founding Engineer Intern to join the team in San Francisco. You will work directly with the CTO to build an agentic system that automates the recruiting process. This role involves rapid experimentation and requires you to take ownership of features from the initial idea to the final production stage. The position includes periods of work in hacker-house environments in Latin America.
What you'll do#
- Build and ship features every day to automate headhunting.
- Manage full end-to-end development for core product components.
- Design and ship parts of an agentic AI system with the founding team.
- Talk to users to measure how your work improves hiring speed and use that data to iterate.
- Thrive in a high-output environment that relies on daily feedback.
What you'll need#
- At least 6 months of experience using React and TypeScript in a production environment.
- Practical experience with Cursor, Supabase, Prisma, and Typesense.
- Enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong ownership mindset to drive features from ideation to production on your own.
- Experience working in scrappy, entrepreneurial environments.
- A willingness to work 7 days a week and participate in hacker-house setups in Latin America.
- A full-stack focus rather than specialization in a single language like Python or C++.
- An outstanding profile, such as a strong academic record, impressive projects, or an active GitHub account.

- This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, California.
- The position includes required travel for hacker-house periods in Latin America.

- This is a full-time, paid internship with rolling start dates.
