About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at CMC, you will gain hands-on experience in the construction and steel industry. This full-time, paid summer internship provides exposure to various departments and real-world projects. You will work alongside professionals to learn industrial technologies and contribute to process improvements.
What you'll do#
- Cross-train within the department to develop skills in industrial and engineering technologies.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities related to process, quality, and safety.
- Work on process improvement initiatives and specific projects.
- Troubleshoot technical problems by applying your knowledge and collaborating with the team.
- Participate in CMC safety programs and support the company safety culture.
- Present a report or project summary at the conclusion of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Junior or Senior standing is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and engineering software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Ability to apply ISO work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- A strong interest in industrial engineering technologies.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, dust, noise, and uneven surfaces.
- Capacity to push or pull up to 90 lbs and carry 50 lbs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
