About the role#
The Soil and Crop Modeling team develops simulation technologies to design and optimize agricultural equipment. You will work with experienced engineers to simulate how soil and crop materials interact with machine components. This role involves using computational modeling to evaluate machine performance in virtual environments before physical testing begins.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and run CFD models of combine cleaning or residue treatment systems.
- Post-process CFD simulation data to gain insights.
- Prepare datasets for model training using machine learning.
- Develop surrogate models from CFD data and optimize model parameters.
- Collect, organize, and process simulation datasets to extract machine performance metrics.
- Collaborate with crop flow modeling, design, and test engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- You must be a currently enrolled college student.
- You should be pursuing an Associates, Technical, Bachelor’s, or Post-graduate degree.
- Relevant fields of study include Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Engineering, Biological/Biosystem/Bioresource Engineering, or Agronomy.

- Location: New Holland, Pennsylvania, USA.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $35.02 to $38.11.
