You will work with experienced engineers to build virtual models that simulate how crops interact with machinery. This role focuses on supporting concept development and improving equipment designs through virtual testing.
What you'll do#
- Develop and validate virtual crop flow models for baling systems using Discrete Element Method (DEM) and Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) software.
- Use Python and C++ to improve simulation physics and crop-to-equipment interaction models.
- Measure physical and mechanical crop properties in the laboratory and process the resulting data.
- Expand the existing library of virtual crop models for round balers.
- Collaborate with design and test engineering teams to improve baling equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associates, Technical, Bachelor’s, or Post-graduate degree program.
- Academic background in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Engineering, Biological/Biosystem/Bioresource Engineering, or Agronomy.
Location & details#
- Location: New Holland, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Summer 2027.
