About the role#
As an Actuarial Pricing Intern, you will join the Commercial and Farm Pricing team. This is a 16-week, full-time, paid internship. You will work on-site and collaborate with mentors to support our insurance business operations.
What you'll do#
- Manage profitability and growth for the home line of business.
- Provide guidance on rate levels and improve segmentation using new models.
- Learn government regulations and best practices for data manipulation.
- Use programming languages, modeling software, and databases like SAS, SQL, and R.
- Produce ad-hoc statistics and analysis as needed.
What you'll need#
- You have completed at least one year of study.
- You are pursuing a bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- You have strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- You possess critical thinking skills to evaluate arguments and propose solutions.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or R is an asset.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
Location & details#
This role is based on-site in Montreal, Quebec, or Toronto, Ontario. Successful candidates will be subject to a background check.
