About the role#
The Student Maintenance Assistant supports the daily operations of the maintenance department at Bowie State University. You will work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to keep facilities in good condition. This is a paid, part-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Escort vendors and contractors throughout the facility.
- Replace air filters and batteries in electronic locks.
- Organize and maintain inventory in maintenance shops and storage closets.
- Assist with moving furniture, including beds, desks, sofas, and appliances, out of apartments.
- Report maintenance issues to your supervisor.
- Complete administrative tasks and attend required meetings.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma.
- Current enrollment as a student at Bowie State University.
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs.
