About the role#
This is a 12-week internship taking place during summer 2027. You will join the Analytics Engineering team to build and maintain the data infrastructure that supports decision-making at Coinbase. You will gain hands-on experience working on production data systems and receive mentorship from senior engineers.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain dimensional data models to provide clean, reliable datasets for analysts and product teams.
- Develop data pipelines using SQL while ensuring documentation and data quality meet production standards.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver datasets or dashboards for self-serve analytics.
- Use generative AI tools to streamline data development, modeling, and documentation workflows.
- Investigate data quality issues and implement tests and monitors to catch problems early.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for computer science, data science, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write complex queries with joins, window functions, and aggregations.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language, preferably Python.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience using generative AI responsibly while maintaining human oversight.
