About the role#
This internship provides training and experience in clinical mental health and substance abuse evaluation. You will work within the IICAPS program, which focuses on stabilizing children and adolescents aged 3 to 18 who are at risk of hospitalization. The program aims to keep youth in their homes and communities by developing strength-based assessments and improving relationships within their families and schools.
What you'll do#
- Gain experience in clinical mental health and substance abuse evaluation and treatment.
- Assist with assessment processes and medication evaluation and monitoring.
- Work with clients on independent living skills.
- Provide outreach treatment services.
- Collaborate with experienced staff members.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in a mental health field, such as Psychology, Public Health, or Nursing.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Prior experience in mental health treatment is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Manchester, Connecticut.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week, flexible Monday through Friday.
- This is a paid internship position.
