    About the role#

    This internship provides training and experience in clinical mental health and substance abuse evaluation. You will work within the IICAPS program, which focuses on stabilizing children and adolescents aged 3 to 18 who are at risk of hospitalization. The program aims to keep youth in their homes and communities by developing strength-based assessments and improving relationships within their families and schools.

    What you'll do#

    • Gain experience in clinical mental health and substance abuse evaluation and treatment.
    • Assist with assessment processes and medication evaluation and monitoring.
    • Work with clients on independent living skills.
    • Provide outreach treatment services.
    • Collaborate with experienced staff members.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in a mental health field, such as Psychology, Public Health, or Nursing.
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • Prior experience in mental health treatment is preferred but not required.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Manchester, Connecticut.
    • Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week, flexible Monday through Friday.
    • This is a paid internship position.
