About the role#
Consigli Construction Co., Inc. is hiring an Estimating Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Albany, New York. You will work directly with our estimating team to gain hands-on experience in cost analysis and project planning.
What you'll do#
- Perform quantity take-offs, unit pricing, and cost comparisons.
- Compile detailed estimates for materials and labor.
- Manage subcontractor lists and keep our estimating databases current.
- Visit project sites to collect data on topography, utilities, and site access.
- Reconcile cost estimates against past projects to track accuracy.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and subcontractors throughout the bidding process.
- Support the development of bid documentation and participate in estimate reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A solid grasp of construction terminology, systems, and materials.
- The ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and analyzing costs.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain project files and records.
