About the role#
This internship provides students with hands-on experience in utility forestry. You will work on projects that support the delivery of reliable energy across Michigan. The program focuses on building professional skills and applying classroom knowledge to real-world field activities.
What you'll do#
- Inspect and plan tree work for various projects.
- Audit completed tree work to ensure quality and compliance.
- Collect, analyze, and input data related to forestry operations.
- Assist with tree inventories, vegetation management plans, and tree removal assessments.
- Support utility forestry field activities, including potential storm-related events.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Natural Resources, Forestry, Environmental Science, Conservation, or Arboriculture.
- A minimum GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- This role is based in Michigan and requires on-site work.
- This is a paid, full-time internship position.
- Candidates must be within a commutable distance of their assigned location or willing to relocate.
