About the role#
This internship program provides hands-on experience for students interested in the energy industry. You will work alongside full-time employees to provide technical support and design assistance across various departments, including electric and gas engineering, operations, and distribution. This role is paid and requires on-site attendance at assigned locations in Michigan.
What you'll do#
- Review, edit, develop, and manage technical documents and drawings for gas and electric systems.
- Assist with engineering projects, including design support, system planning, inspections, and field investigations.
- Consult with supervisors, operators, and engineers to discuss project needs and provide technical expertise.
- Use computer-assisted engineering and drafting software to prepare design documents.
- Monitor construction and operating sites to track progress against design specifications.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a 2-year associate degree or a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Completion of at least 48 scientific or technical semester credit hours.
- A minimum GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- A valid driver’s license.
