About the role#
Cordell and Cordell PC is hiring a Summer Associate for the Summer 2027 term. This program is designed to mirror the experience of a first-year associate. You will gain practical experience in family law while working with firm leaders and experienced attorneys. The firm offers a pathway to potential part-time law clerk positions during your third year and full-time roles upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Draft and analyze legal documents for active family law cases.
- Conduct legal research and prepare trial materials.
- Attend court proceedings with experienced attorneys.
- Participate in client meetings to learn about case strategy.
- Work with a Litigation Partner to understand family law practice.
- Attend firm-sponsored networking and social events.
- Complete other tasks as needed to support the business.
What you'll need#
- You are a current 2L student at an accredited law school.
- You have a demonstrated interest in a career in family law.
- Your law school GPA is 3.0 or higher.
- You have the ability to relocate or reside in the assigned office location for the program.
- You are flexible regarding work locations upon graduation.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
