About the role#
Cordell and Cordell PC is hiring a Summer Associate for the Summer 2027 term. This paid, full-time internship provides 2L law students with practical experience in family law. You will work alongside experienced attorneys and firm leaders to gain insight into case strategy and daily practice. The program aims to provide a pathway to a career in family law, with potential opportunities for part-time law clerk positions during your third year and full-time roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Draft and analyze legal documents for active family law cases.
- Conduct legal research and help prepare trial materials.
- Attend court proceedings with experienced attorneys.
- Participate in client meetings to understand case strategy.
- Work closely with a Litigation Partner to build a foundation in family law practice.
- Engage in firm-sponsored networking and social events.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support firm operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2L student at an accredited law school, with an expected graduation date in 2028.
- Good standing at your law school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in family law.
- Ability to reside in or relocate to San Antonio for the duration of the program.
- Flexibility regarding work location upon graduation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Compensation: $35 per hour.
