About the role#
Corteva Agriscience is seeking an intern for the Genetic and Molecular Toxicology group at our Newark, Delaware facility. You will work alongside experienced scientists and technical experts in a GLP-compliant laboratory environment. This role focuses on applying automation and machine learning to toxicology research to support plant production products.
What you'll do#
- Support toxicity testing for plant production products under the guidance of a Principal Investigator.
- Develop and evaluate machine learning approaches for analyzing high-content imaging datasets from the Cellomics CX7 platform.
- Build image-processing workflows to identify, classify, and quantify cellular endpoints.
- Compare machine-generated outputs against manual analyses to measure performance, accuracy, and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with assay scientists to find ways to improve current workflows.
- Document your methods and results, presenting your findings to project teams at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate program in computational science, biomedical science, biology, or a related field.
- A strong interest in both biology and machine learning.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong technical data and communication skills, along with a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks.
