About the role#
Cretex Medical is looking for an Industrial Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position supports manufacturing and warehousing operations in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. You will help implement a barcode system to improve inventory accuracy and workflow efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site role that involves collaboration across engineering, IT, and operations teams.
What you'll do#
- Map current workflows, material handling, and data collection methods to find areas for improvement.
- Assist in designing the barcode system, including hardware selection, labeling conventions, and ERP integration.
- Configure, test, deploy, and support hardware and software within production and warehouse environments.
- Interview subject matter experts to gather technical information.
- Create and revise documentation, including work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Technical Communication, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of IT and networking, along with familiarity with barcode technologies.
- Strong technical writing and editing skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials, process flows, and equipment manuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
