About the role#
As a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacy education. This role is designed to develop your professional knowledge, skills, and abilities within a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide patient care and support pharmacy operations. This program requires successful completion of internship hours within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment by focusing on patient safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage pharmacy inventory to maintain stock levels.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing staff members.
- Provide patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Engage with customers to provide professional service, answer questions, and address concerns.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department while adhering to all federal and state laws.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in time management, digital literacy, and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
