    About the role#

    The Viper Finance Intern will work directly with the finance and investor relations team at Diamondback Energy. This is a 12-week summer internship where you will handle financial analysis, capital markets, and merger and acquisition tasks. You will work closely with senior leadership and contribute to deliverables that reach the C-suite and the Board of Directors.

    What you'll do#

    • Complete an individual Finance and Investor Relations project and present the results to executive teams.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for senior executives and the Board of Directors.
    • Create investor relations materials such as presentations and press releases.
    • Build financial models to evaluate merger and acquisition opportunities.
    • Perform peer benchmarking and gather data from market resources.
    • Learn about field operations through on-site visits to drilling rigs and completions spreads.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
    • A commitment to return to school for the Fall 2027 semester.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.60 or higher is preferred.
    • Prior experience in the oil and gas sector or financial settings is a plus.

    Location & details#

    • This role is based on-site in Midland, Texas.
    • The internship runs for approximately 12 weeks from May to August 2027.
    • This is a full-time, paid position.
