About the role#
The Finance Treasury Intern supports the Finance and Treasury team by assisting with financial reporting, analysis, valuation activities, and cash flow modeling. You will gain practical experience in financial planning, treasury, and asset management while collaborating with departments across the company to support investment decisions and portfolio performance.
What you'll do#
- Prepare financial information for monthly and quarterly review meetings, surplus cash distributions, refinances, and limited partner buyouts.
- Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and updating of financial models, cash flow analyses, and valuation tools.
- Update and maintain unit, property, and portfolio tracking workbooks.
- Review financial statements, operating data, and property performance metrics.
- Assist with Property Database audits and data validation efforts.
- Prepare, format, and analyze developer cash flow summaries and other financial reporting materials.
- Participate in departmental meetings and project discussions while providing administrative and analytical support.
- Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Asset Management, and other Corporate Services teams on special projects.
- Conduct data analysis and research to support financial planning, forecasting, underwriting, and portfolio management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, or graduation within the previous 12 months.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work with moderate independence and accept delegated assignments.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and present findings clearly.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, or similar data analytics tools is preferred.
- Interest in real estate finance, treasury operations, financial planning, or investment analysis is preferred.
