About the role#
This one-year fellowship offers a professional development opportunity for certified athletic trainers. You will gain hands-on experience providing medical care to Duke University student-athletes, primarily within Olympic sports. This role is designed to advance your clinical and leadership skills through a structured educational curriculum.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Athletic Medicine staff and team physicians to deliver medical care.
- Assist in supervising athletic training students and student workers.
- Participate in an educational curriculum that includes weekly seminars, case studies, journal clubs, and surgical observations.
- Complete administrative tasks as delegated by the athletic medicine staff.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a Master's degree.
- National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) by the start date.
- Ability to apply for state licensure with the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners by the start date.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a commitment to professional growth.
- Familiarity with NCAA governing rules.
