About the role#
This position provides Cal Poly Pomona students with hands-on experience in dining services at Centerpointe. You will work in a team environment while developing customer service, professional, and technical skills. The role requires a balance of independent work and collaboration with staff across the university.
What you'll do#
- Handle general office tasks, research projects, and tutoring.
- Assist with food preparation, serving, waiting tables, and cashiering.
- Maintain the facility through custodial tasks, groundwork, and dishwashing.
- Receive and stock orders and items.
- Prepare documents and materials as needed.
- Provide interactive customer service to individuals via phone, email, or in person.
- Manage multiple projects while handling confidential materials.
- Communicate work status and task completions to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Cal Poly Pomona student in good academic standing.
- A major in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Hospitality Management, Kinesiology, or a related field is preferred.
- Interest in nutrition, food safety, and supporting students with special dietary needs.
- Knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and the prevention of allergen cross-contact.
- Ability to work well with a diverse, multi-cultural team.
