    About the role#

    The Specialty Nurse Intern Program (SNIP) is a 26-week structured orientation for new graduate nurses starting their career in the Emergency Department. This program combines clinical exposure with classroom lectures to build emergency care skills. Participants work with a team of preceptors and receive support beyond the initial six-month period. All new graduates are also enrolled in a 12-month paid Nurse Residency Program that provides foundational and specialty education.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide and supervise direct and indirect nursing care.
    • Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care goals.
    • Deliver advanced and specialized nursing care for patients.
    • Follow all rules and regulations set by local, state, and federal agencies.
    • Participate in customer service initiatives while maintaining respectful relationships with patients and families.

    What you'll need#

    • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
    • Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing or a current compact RN license to practice in North Carolina by the start date.
    • BLS or higher certification.
    • Professional specialty certification is preferred.

    • Term: Winter 2027 (February/March 2027 cohort).
    • Modality: On-site, full-time.
    • Shifts: Day (7a-7p) or Night (7p-7a) shifts available.
