About the role#
As a Manufacturing Scientist or Quality Control Chemist Intern, you will join the Animal Health Manufacturing Lab team at our Fort Dodge, Iowa plant. This summer internship is project-based and focuses on business-critical needs. You will work on tasks such as reducing analytical variability or implementing new lab methods. This role offers exposure to various career paths and subject matter experts through site-wide projects.
What you'll do#
- Learn the Animal Health Manufacturing process and document work using GMP guidelines.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements in the process or the Quality Control lab.
- Gain knowledge in areas including fermentation, product recovery, product finishing, and companion animal packaging.
- Study design improvement processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering major, such as Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suites.
- A willingness to learn.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Dodge, Iowa (on-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17th to August 6th).
- Travel: 10% travel to the Indianapolis, Indiana corporate facility for program opening and closing.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
- Housing: Financial support and assistance with securing housing are available.
