About the role#
We are looking for an Estimating Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This part-time position offers students hands-on experience in construction estimating while balancing academic commitments. You will work alongside experienced estimators to learn the trade and contribute to our project bids.
What you'll do#
- Support the estimating team by reviewing project plans, specifications, and related documents.
- Perform takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals under supervision.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure estimates are accurate.
- Track and analyze project costs to help identify potential overruns.
- Communicate with crew members, subcontractors, and team members to support project budgets.
- Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of protective gear during site visits.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university, college, or technical school program in Civil, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Basic knowledge of construction concepts or estimating software is helpful but not required.
