About the role#
We are looking for a Stringless Paving Intern to join our GPS team. You will work alongside paving crews, using robotic total stations and other survey equipment to guide concrete pavers. This role requires travel to various project sites and a commitment to maintaining pavement thickness and smoothness according to contract requirements. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Position total stations to control the horizontal and vertical alignment of trimmers and concrete pavers.
- Establish job site control networks.
- Perform quality assurance of tolerances to line and grade while paving and trimming operations are in motion.
- Manage the construction layout of pavement edges and joints.
- Coordinate surveying activities with jobsite Superintendents.
What you'll need#
- At least two years of construction industry experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Working knowledge of survey practices and computations.
- Pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering.
Location & details#
- Work is on-site at various locations including Columbia, Kansas City, O'Fallon, and Springfield, Missouri, as well as Springdale, Arkansas.
- This position requires travel between branch offices and project sites, including potential overnight travel.
- This is a full-time role.
