About the role#
Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is hiring an Underground Utilities Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position provides hands-on experience on active construction sites. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support day-to-day project operations while building a foundation for a career in the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Perform general construction tasks such as digging trenches, loading materials, and operating hand or power tools.
- Support project teams with planning, execution, and management tasks.
- Help maintain project documentation including schedules, budgets, plans, and reports.
- Work with engineers, project managers, site supervisors, and field staff to meet project goals.
- Participate in site activities to learn about construction methods, equipment, and safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant degree program, such as Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Columbia, Missouri.
- The term typically runs from May through August.
