About the role#
Essentia Health offers a paid education benefit of $20,000 for students currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technologist program. In exchange for this support, participants commit to working at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth for two years after graduation. This is a full-time position requiring 36 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical interventions in the Operating Room for patients of all ages.
- Manage instrumentation, equipment, prosthesis, and supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.
- Work a rotation that includes every fourth weekend and holidays.
- Complete night shifts, typically four times every four weeks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technologist program. Online certificate programs and prerequisite courses do not qualify.
- AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, which must be obtained within one month of hire.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota.
- Shifts are scheduled between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, 10:00 am and 6:30 pm, or 11:00 pm and 7:30 am.
